Enabling the Extraordinary To Fly To Power To Live

Heat Exchangers for Chemical Processing Industries

Heatric has broad experience in Steam Methane Reformation (SMR), Fischer Tropsch (FT) and other chemical processes. From collaborating with clients in developing equipment for these applications, Heatric has built comprehensive expertise in bespoke reactors. This equipment is specifically engineered for extreme process conditions and the designs ensure maximum process optimisation in a small footprint.

Heatric worked on a number of  chemical processing projects, such as multiple adiabatic bed reactors and compact steam reformation. Through collaboration on these innovative projects Heatric has developed a number of advancements in its technology. This includes specific design features incorporated into the heat exchangers for the particular needs of each project.

Extreme environments

The wide range of fluids and operations in chemical processing means that very few applications are alike. Each operating environment has specific requirements which often leads to extreme conditions for the processing equipment.

Due to the extreme reactions and environments of chemical processing it is critical that robust, high-integrity equipment be incorporated into the system.  By utilising specialised materials suited to the rigours of chemical processing, Heatric’s diffusion bonded PCHEs offer a compact and safe heat transfer solution.

The benefits offered by Heatric’s PCHEs include:

  • Can be manufactured in a range of alloys including (but not limited to) 316L 2205, duplex, 6% Moly, grade 2 titanium, Inconel 617
  • Up to 85% smaller than competing technologies
  • Immunity to catastrophic failure modes
  • High pressure capabilities of up to 965 bar
  • Wide temperature range, from cryogenic to 980°C
