 | Size matters
Being small gives our diffusion-bonded heat exchangers significant benefits over conventional heat exchangers across a range of industries. Particularly suitable when space is limited and weight is critical, Heatric exchangers are up to 85% smaller and lighter than the equivalent shell and tube exchanger. More than this, Heatric exchangers reduce costs and improves plant performance by:
Reducing structural and support requirements
Easier installation
Easier transportation of factory-assembled equipment packages
Sparing use of exotic materials
Improving performance in limited space
Small hold-up of process fluids and cleaning agents
Giving greater responsiveness to control

The diffusion-bonded heat exchanger in the foreground undertakes the same thermal duty, at the same pressure drop, as the stack of three shell and tube exchangers behind. This exchanger is one of several supplied to a project on Pagerungan Island, Indonesia

The use of diffusion-bonded heat exchangers on the British Gas Armada platform saved three metres on each of three decks, enabling a single lift installation. |

Compactness
PCHEs are typically 4 to 6 times smaller than shell and tube exchangers of equivalent performance. This is as a result of their large heat exchange surface area per unit volume, high heat transfer coefficients and counterflow contact in a single core, when required.
